Witch-hunting “婦”

The hieroglyph in Chinese characters refers to the original meaning of the characters and words. For example ,the word ”婦”，which means woman,is consist of “女”-a symbol of yarn which means female , and a
“帚”- stands for broom,illustrates the female status when the character was made, a female person with a broom, shows an intuitive female status in ancient China.

women are restricted at home and domestic work without payment. If a woman does not obeys the traditional gender rules ,she would be punished, sometimes even killed.

There is a conincidence of female status in Europe and America: the witch hunting.The imaginary picture of witch are usually a woman with a broom that could fly.During that time, millions of innocent women were accused and killed. The basic reason is simple:

they are women.
